Urlaubsrichtlinie

This policy sets out the leave available to employees of Casca E-Connect Private Limited and how to apply for it. It applies to all full-time employees; part-time, contract and intern entitlements are pro-rated or set out in the individual appointment letter.

Applying for leave

• Apply through the HR system or to your reporting manager, giving at least 7 days’ notice for planned leave of three days or more.
• Sick leave should be reported to your manager before the start of the working day. A medical certificate is required for sick leave longer than two consecutive days.
• Leave is confirmed only after approval by your reporting manager.

How leave is counted

• Leave is credited on a pro-rata basis from the date of joining in the first year.
• Weekly offs and company holidays falling within a period of leave are not counted as leave.
• Half-day leave can be taken for casual and sick leave.

Carry forward and encashment

• Casual and sick leave lapse at the end of the calendar year.
• Up to 30 days of earned leave may be carried forward. Earned leave above that limit lapses unless encashed as per company practice.
• Unused earned leave is settled at the time of separation as required by law.

Other leave

• Maternity leave: as provided under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 (currently up to 26 weeks).
• Paternity leave: 5 working days, to be taken within three months of the child’s birth or adoption.
• Bereavement leave: up to 3 working days on the death of an immediate family member.
• Leave without pay: may be granted when other leave is exhausted, with the approval of the reporting manager and HR.

Unauthorised absence may be treated as leave without pay. Where the law of the state in which you work provides better entitlements, those apply. Questions about this policy can be addressed to the HR team.
